Chinook fishing improving in Milwaukee!
Some nice Kings along with great Coho Salmon fishing. To get my fish reports and how to videos first go to http://www.jimhirt.com By subscribing you will keep ahead of the other anglers. When I post you will get it fast by e-mail!
How
Early or late bite has been very productive fishing. Calm seas the last several days has made it a little more difficult to get the fish to bite all day. Most of the Coho are in the top 35 feet on 6-inch flashers or OO dodgers with Howie peanut, flies tied 13 inches long. The Coho are not all that picky on color most green or blue Howie flies will work. The majority of the fish are Coho on most trips. Reaper Magnum and Vulcan Magnum spoons in blue/green or silver/ green on the leadcores are taking Chinooks and Lake Trout 8 to 15 pounds. Leadcore in 4,5,6, and eight colors are the best for kings. The only place you will find Reaper and Vulcan spoons is on their web site at http://www.badgertackle.com The warmer days has brought the temperatures near shore up to 61 degrees on the surface and that action in has slowed. Start your trip in 50 feet of water and fish out to deeper water. Look for 52-degree surface water and fish the top 30 feet for the best action. Our best presentations are Yellow Bird planer boards with 25 foot leads behind the boards. Slide Divers are also producing set to #1 with 35 feet of line out. Our best speed was 1.7 to 2.0 mph.
Where!
Fish have moved out as the water temperature has went up to 61 on the surface near shore. Action seems to be better as you move south of the green can or about 2.5 miles south of Milwaukee. Have a great fishing season. Let's go fishing! Note All alone we put together groups at $125 per person. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters.
