Lake Michigan Milwaukee Fish Report
The Blue Max our boat is in and we have been fishing for two weeks. The wind has been out of the east most of the time. The lake has warmed up by two degrees over this time period. The fishing has been consistently good. We are producing nice catches of Brown trout, Chinooks and some Rainbows. Our best lures have been small spoons silver or white blade with green or blue stripes and crankbaits in most colors. Fishing the temp breaks along the shoreline, river mouths and harbor gaps has been working. I have mixed presentation with planer boards, shallow dipsey divers and long lines off the downriggers 5 to 25 feet down. The water flowing into the Milwaukee harbor is 58 degrees. Fish the harbor gap with the warmest water coming out. When the wind is out of the north, fish the south gap or southern shorelines where the warm water flows out or stacks up. When the wind is out of the south do the opposite. Run your lures in and out of the temp breaks for the best action. Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI.
