Milwaukee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Michigan Milwaukee, Wisconsin fish report
May fishing to this point has been great. The count on fish has been through the roof with very good action on Brown trout and some Chinooks and Rainbows. We have not seen any Coho yet, but we have not targeted them. The weather is improving and this should only make things better. The Brown trout have been in the 3-11 pound size with some larger Chinooks 8-12 pounds. Inside the harbor and along the outside of the break wall in 35-45 feet of water is where most of the fish were holding. Action came on planer boards, dipseys and downriggers. All presentations were working. We worked the surface down to the bottom. 22 feet to the surface was best. Most of our fish came on Fishlander ultra glow spoons in a variety of sizes and colors. The best color pattern was easter egg green glow. We also had good action on small white blade spoons with orange and yellow stripes. The boat speed of 2.0-2.4 G.P.S gave the best results. The contents of the fishes stomachs showed they were eating well, all different sizes of alewives were present. Good luck Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI.
