The last three days the fish have been jumping in the boat. Well almost, the action is great. Were taking a mixed bag of 80% Coho, 20% Chinooks and a few Browns and Lake Trout. The action is still in the top 35 feet of water outside the breakwall Milwaukee in 35-45 feet of water. Gobbly Wabbler peanut flies in green or purple are best for hammering the Coho tied 13 inches behind a 6 inch orange flasher. Most of the Coho are in the top five feet. The best presentation for us is Yellow Bird planer boards with a 40-foot lead. There is also some Huge Chinooks around between 10 and 18 pounds. Eighteen pounds is a not bad size for this early in the year. If this is an indication of the size of the four year olds it should be a very exciting season. Big spoons are working for the big boys on downriggers presented from 25 feet to the bottom. The best spoon for us is the Vulcan #3 Fire Tiger or Monkey Puke glow. Slide Divers are also producing fish 10-20 feet down with spoons or flasher flies. Let's go fishing!! Jim charters out of Milwaukee, WI. with Blue Max Charters.
