Guatemala fishing report sept 17th 2006

Postby sailfish » Mon Sep 18, 2006 10:41 am

This fishing report is for the week ending 09-17-06 and is prepared by The Great Sailfishing Company which operates out of the new Pez Vela Marina, Guatemala. The fishing grounds for this past week ranged from 15 miles to as far as 40 miles. Seas this week have been ranging between 1 to 3ft at the start of the week. However, on Sunday caused by a severe storm, seas were as high as 4ft. Another storm hit on Sunday night 09-17-06 keeping the fleet in as of this report dated 09-18-06.

This week saw fair to poor results with boats reporting raises in the low single digits, with releases also in the single digits (most boats reporting 0 to 2 releases). Once again there were lots of Dorado (at the 15 mile mark boats were reporting boated dorado in the 20s and 30s) and yellowfin tuna to be had..To register for our weekly fishing report and other information please click here

As always our reports tell it as it is.
Have a great day and tight lines!
