Monday Trip Report

Postby Salt4Life » Tue Aug 10, 2004 6:38 pm

I recently moved to florida about half a year ago, and this seems to me to be a more active forum for posting fishing reports and info. I fish mostly out of the lemon bay area doing coastal, bay and some offshore when the weather permits. Ill post my reports from the days I go out, ive found the reports you guys post useful a number of times, so hopefully i can give back a little from what ive gained.

I went out monday with a friend for a few hours about 5 miles out from gasparilla pass. Got into plent of decent size key west grunts, a few triggers and some short red grouper. We had big jacks and cudda swimming all around the boat, but i couldnt do anything to get them to hit. Though there was a couple schools of hoos and some other baitfish in our chum slick and neither the jacks or cudda touched them the entire time we were out there. Also hooked and released a 7 foot nurse shark and a 3 foot reef. All in all a decent day to relax on the water and catch some fish to fry for dinner.

Chris,

Just catch a bait fish and freeling it down tide and see how quick a jack or cuda eats it!
