On board today with me was Chuck Hibbert, Edward "Red killer" Ast, and Pat Bryson from New Hampshire. These guys have been in town through Mardi Gras and wanted a sample of our fishing. The guys had a great time reeling in the red brutes all morning long. Lots of line dragging today as most of the reds averaged 4 1/2 pounds up to 10 pounds. All the reds were caught on LSU Bayou Chubs in 1 ft or less of water in the ponds. Our first couple stops for trout produced zero I did manage to find a school of trout later on but they were all under-size fish except for two The guys wanted to catch anything that would take their lines so I had picked up some shrimp. We headed to the old faithful drum hole and got skunked, although a second hole did produce some undersize drum Any way, it was a good day on the water as the wind did not pick up till later in the day after we had done our damage. The guys ended the day with their limit of reds, a drum and a couple trout. Great day spent on the water as usual.
