Joseph Brocato, his two sons Joseph Jr & Jathen, and his brother James joined me today to put a SLAM on the reds. I started out at one of my drum holes so the two boys could have a lot of action reeling in fish. All of the fish they caught were too small to keep, but they still had lots of fun reeling in the fish. After about 30 minutes it was time to target the red fish pond. We hit it hard and the reds were coming in the boat like crazy. We caught fish on every bait we threw at them, as they were very willing to cool off in the Yeti!!! The guys ended the day hooking into 29 reds, while they only kept their limit and one lonely lost trout!! . The reds averaged 17-24 inches, and 9 year old Jathen caught the biggest red all by himself.
Big thanks to Michael Carr with Fishbites Xtreme Scent Release baits, the baits really work well. Five fish today were caught on the white 3 inch Paddle Tail, I hooked a fish with my first cast!!!
