Solid Trout 6-21-08

Postby Capt Marty » Wed Jul 02, 2008 6:35 pm

Day 2 with the Texas group looked like it was going to be the day to smash the trout. We picked up some croakers today......(yes, the trout wanted that live stuff). Got set up on a spot that I thought would produce, but it never happened. We picked at the trout boxing about 10 fish (all over two pounds). Once the boat show began, it was time to move. Hit a few other locations picking at the trout. Never found a good concentration of fish anywhere, but every trout we caught was a solid two pounds or better. Only one fish today was caught on plastic. Guess the trout needed a day off!!!!!!!!! The blue fish have showed up over the last couple days, tearing all your plastics in half. The Texas boys were happy as can be catching trout, sharks, and Spanish mackerel. No big numbers today, but the size of the trout made up for it. These guys were really fun to fish with, but poor Zack!!!! They messed with him big time....LOL.

Thanks Capt. Bill Lake with Bayou Guide Service for getting the trip together
