Capt. Joel "Big Red" Wakeland and I hit the water in his new boat "The Big Kenner!!" scouting for trout and reds. Clean water found all over Dularge with moving water and NO GNAT's (thank goodness). we focused our morning on shallow reefs in the 1-3 ft range. We found fish on all the reefs we fished, but no big numbers on a single reef. Tight-lineing LSU Chubs, Tsunamis, and sparkle beetles under a cork all produced fish today. After trout fishing we went check a couple ponds that were unfishable last year due to all the grass. The reds were not thick, but we found enough in our two drifts to let me know they were there!! It was a fun day on the water with great company. Thanks Joel!!
