Capt. Ryan Young and I made a quick scouting trip today. Our focus today was for big trout and tournament reds. It did not take us long to find what we were looking for, as we hooked several 19 inch trout at our first stop (keeping a few for the frying pan tonight!!). Our second stop is where we had the "Big Girls" exploding on the top water baits. Several big blow ups and hook ups but none boated. It amazes me how they can smash six hooks and still come off. We left the area after making one drift across the flat to search for reds in the 26-26 3/4 range. The reds were piled up crashing bait all over
the place and could not resist our gold spoons and top waters. Another great day on the water. Looking forward to the weekend.
