On-board the Blazer Bay today I had Bill & Fay Stevenson from N.O. What a awesome day today with the light winds!!!! We started off the morning burning the trout two at a time on tandem rigged bayou chubs. This was the first time Bill and Fay had ever experienced trout fishing and what a great introduction for them!!!! We had a good twenty minute spurt catching them every-cast, good 16-18 inch fish. After the bite played out the floor was covered with fish. We hit a few more spots picking up a couple fish here and there. By 9:00 the bite was pretty much over, so off we went to look for reds. We drifted through two ponds not getting a single bite. Our third pond is where we hit the jackpot as we hooked up with ten reds. All big bruisers going 26-28 inches with only one going 17 inches. Two of the big brutes got the better of us and are swimming around with a LSU Chub in their mouth!!!!!!! All the reds came out the dark clear water bronze as can be. It was a pleasure fishing with my crew today and I look forward to their return in November.
