Long time off the water due to deer hunting, but its time to crank things up!!! Today I had Bill Chen and his family from Alexandria. Our goal was to target trout early then find some reds. Unfortunately the trout must have been hibernating or behind all the locked gates . Only 5 trout made it into the boat today (4 keepers). Hit a couple red spots and only had one take the LSU chub. Luckily I had picked up some shrimp for last resort and it payed off. My crew ended up filling the box almost to the top with an assortment of puppy drum and sheep-head (including the red and trout). Cold start this morning but it warmed up nicely and what a beautiful sunny day it was to be on the water. Bill and his family had a great time reeling in the fish today, and it was a pleasure taking them. Don't leave home without your bug spray......the NATS were bad out there. It was a tough but good day. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us and the trout will fall into their regular pattern.....soon. Thanks Capt Bill for setting things up
Give me a call for your next trip.
