Wind, Rain, Reds 7-22-08

Postby Capt Marty » Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:11 am

I helped out Capt. Bill Lake with Bayou Guide Service today with a crew of four. Lance Valentine brought his kids: Brent, Blain and Karli Rushings . We hit the coast in search of the Yellow-mouths first thing this morning. Only found one taker in about 45 minutes of fishing, so it was time to put plan B into effect. Turned the Blazer Bay North and we were off to the duck ponds. Black clouds and rain surrounded us in most directions it seemed, but by some miracle we managed to avoid getting soaked. We hooked into 20 reds, which 12 of those hit the deck and 7 made it to the icechest. Another tough day on the DU, as it seemed like the wind was blowing 30 mph. Lake Mechant had 3 footers in it, I would of hated to see the Gulf. Only saw one other boat all day......It was a guy in a Pathfinder with a Yamaha on the back, looked like he was on a WILD GOOSE CHASE like his brother!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey Coogan did you catch any? Thanks to my crew and Capt. Bill Lake for putting the trip together.
