I had the great pleasure of fishing with one of my best friends back from high school today, Brandon Grezaffi. We were greeted with the picture perfect morning today...slick calm seas, no wind, falling tide, clean water, shrimp jumping, birds diving, beautiful sunrise, etc. I thought for sure we were going to smash the trout and be done in thirty minutes. Well, that did not happen. It was a slow bite as the trout were not biting fast and furious for some reason. They wanted the bait slow on the bottom drifting with the current. After only boating 10 fish in over thirty minutes I decided it was time to move. Our second stop had the trout coming in the boat faster, we picked up another 10 fish in about 10 minutes. Made a third move to only find pecker trout coming in every cast. Our fourth stop is where we hit the jackpot, as we put the slam on the last 25 fish in short order. 1-2 at a time every cast slinging them into the boat. All fish caught on plastic baits tightlined and under a cork. Fish today averaged 13-16 inch's with minimum throwbacks. Great time fishing and catching up on old times. Thanks Brandon.
Don't miss out on this great bite, call me to book your next trip. The bite should only heat up thru December.
