Yellow Perch fishing on Lake Erie

Yellow perch are one of the most popular species with Lake Erie anglers. Yellow Perch fishing is a favorite pastime during late summer through fall when perch are concentrated in large schools nearshore and are caught relatively easily aboard the Erie Quest. In most cases throughout Lake Erie, yellow perch rend to be associated near or on the lake bottom. In the Western Basin during the summer, yellow perch tend to move offshore to 30- to 40- foot depths.
