Final Countdown for the Season... -
On our last trip we got lots of porgies, sea bass, bluefish and an unfamiliar cod-like fish, which turned out to be a hake. Bluefish are larger and more plentiful, and the weather's been great if you don't mind windy conditions.

Nothing to Shout About.... - We've had wind and rough waters for the past few weeks, and we've been forced to stay close to the shore line, where we've gotten some small sea bass, and tons of sea robins. It's been very frustrating.

Not Much Variety out There.... - We've had a few trips since our last update, and the catch has been scads of scup with a smattering of sea bass; very few blues around at this time. Still waiting for the larger blues and eager to see the striped bass migration begin. more...

Porgies, Sea Bass Best Bet These Days - We went out several times since our last report. All the folks on our charters brought in loads of porgies and many sea bass. We had some rough days with folks getting a bit seasick due to bumpy water, but we didn't have to abort any of the trips.

Not much action after July 4th.... - We had several trips around the holiday weekend, but action has slowed down dramatically. We'd been getting sea bass, fluke, porgies and bluefish, but no striped bass.

Boat on dry land last week.... - We ran into a problem with the engine, and it needed some work that took about five days. Just got it back in the water today and looking forward to several trips over the holiday weekend.

Starting to Warm Up.... - We've been getting keeper fluke, some nice bluefish, and the occasional sea bass. Other boats fishing L.I. Sound have been bringing in striped bass at night or at dawn, but few reports about porgies at this time.

The Blues are Back! - We fished three times last week; our passengers brought it lots and lots of bluefish 5-9 lbs. We also caught one keeper fluke and many sea robins.
The water in L.I. Sound is still a bit too cold to attract porgies and sea bass, but we're expectin more...
