Permit caught while fishing on the flats -
Summer fishing can be great...and it is, with nice catches of Redfish, Trout, Snook, Permit, Mackerel, Bluefish, Tarpon...
The weather is nice also with temps in the low 80s. The afternoon rain hasn't started yet, but are sure to come.

Finally, typical Fl. weather - April has finally arrived, and the winter clothes are stashed away until next year.
Calmer days, clean water, and hungry fish.

Snook are here again but it doesn't feel right - Snook of all sizes are still where they should often be but I have to agree with Capt. John Bunch about the pressure on them.

Spring Tarpon are Jumping - Well,it's nice to finally have some stability in the weather because of the Tarpon in our area.
It's necessary to have full sun with little wind to really have a great chance to jump those 100 plus pounders.

Two Out Of Five! Good Days! - I had a full week this week, but it was reduced to two trips on Monday and Friday by three very windy days. I was able to reschedule those days for later this month and next month.

Despite the Wind Fish are Hungry around Pine Island - For the better part of the week strong east winds dominated the weather around Pine Island. We still fished every day with the exception of one very rainy day and to my surprise the bite was actually better than what I would have thought.
