Mixed Bag! - Talk about a mixed bag of fish! That's exactly what I had yesterday the 8th of November in Jacksonville Florida.
I made a run to the north to check out a few spots for Flounder. The Flounder just weren't laid up good. Even though we caught severa more...

Enjoying the Cooler Weather - Right conditions wrong moon! The tide and wind were perfect for Flounder gigging the morning of the 31st but the Flounder just weren't laid up good. The full moon is not my favorite but because everything else was right I had to try.
Lots of push more...

Late October 2009 - The weather has been great this week. A little wind a few days but mild temperatures and the water temp has cooled a few degrees also.
If you like loading the cooler up with fish the Croakers are everywhere in the river. There are no limits on th more...

First Cold Front of The Year... - The first true cold front moved into North Florida this past Friday and after the front you know what's next… 15 to 20 NE winds. This should drop our water temp a little and put the inshore fish on the move.

A Little Time for Me! - It's always nice to slip out and do a little fishing myself when I get a chance. This past weekend I called one of my regulars and invited him to go fun fishing with me and of course he said yes.

Looking for the Flounder! - I couldn't wait any longer to try the Flounder gigging… All the monster high tides last month kept the gigging on the back burner but we had a half decent low tide the other morning and I had to go!
The water was very clean but I was amazed at the more...

My Favorite Time of Year! - Well the monster flood tides have made the tailing Red fishing start a little early this year. Even though it's a very slow and patient way of Red fishing it's also very rewarding when you get one hooked up.
I try to ease along in the thinner gr more...

Fishing in Your Back Yard!!! - A little change of pace is always nice when it comes to fishing. A friend of mine Yale McNeill invited me to fish in the lake just across the street from his home on the southern edge of Jacksonville with him and his daughter Leila.
He had told me more...

Clean Water Equals Good Gigging!!! - A little break in the water clarity last week made for a great Flounder gigging trip… It's been a while since the water has been clean enough that I could gig any area I wanted to and it paid off for Phil Baker and my self.
Perfect tide from 2am t more...
