New Haven - Saltwater Fishing Report
The Stratford Professional Firefighters Burn Foundation charity bluefish Tourney
Saturday was The Stratford Professional Firefighters Burn Foundation charity bluefish Tourney. ReelCrazy, SunBum, and FullMoon donated ours boats for the day to help raise more money for the Burn Foundation. FullMoons party cancelled the night before due to some work issues.
SumBum and I met at the dock at 5 am. It was raining but the wind wasnt to bad. We got the boats ready and our Passangers showed up on time for a 6 am departure. We had about a 30 minute boat ride to our spot. We both anchored up within 20 feet of each other because all they guys were Stratford Firemen and were friends. We were into blues with 5 minutes of being there. They were many double and triple hook up and the guy were having a ball yelling back and forth. About 9 am the wind really started to pick up and we were fishing in 3 footers. About 10 am they grew to 4's. We made the call to head back to New Haven Harbor and finish off the trip in there. It was a long bumpy ride back. The harbor wasnt to much better and the wind pick up even more. We gave it another half hour and called it a day. Between both boat we boated and released about 70 blues. We kept a few of the bigger one for the weigh in.
