Little change in fishing patterns....

Capt. Sal Tardella
August 1, 2015
Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've been bringing in keeper fluke, sea bass, blues of all sizes, but very few porgies and no stripers at this time.

The heat and calendar should suggest a bumper crop of porgies at this time, but they've been in short supply, which is a great disappointment because feisty scup give anglers a big bang for their buck, especially youngsters who might have a hard time reeling in lunkers of any specie.

Large striped bass continue to be caught only during nighttime hours, but they're not being seen in abundance, even under the best of conditions.
