Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We fished last week with Matt Milano of New Canaan and his girlfriend, Amanda Miratain. The weather was perfect, and our passengers had a great time bringing in 20 schoolie striped bass as well as three fluke, caught around the Norwalk and Westport islands. It won't be long before we start seeing bluefish showing up locally.
And this week David Dekker of Weston brought a carload of kids aboard My Bonnie to celebrate the 13th birthday of his son, Zack. Zack's sister, Hannah, and three of his school buddies had a great time, bringing in about three dozen bluefish ranging from 3-7 lbs. as well as 15 schoolie stripers, after which we tried for fluke, bringing in five. All the fish were released.
It was a relief to see so many nice-sized bluefish coming over the rail, boding well for the rest of the season.
