Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've had many fishing charters since our last report. Right now we're enjoying catching very large porgies, keeper fluke, schoolie striped bass, small sea bass, and bluefish 5-7 pounds.
Many of our passengers are looking for lunker striped bass, but these are only being caught by diehards who go out well before dawn, catch fresh bunker and use it for bait. And even that doesn't work every day. It's still hit and miss if huge striped bass is all you're interested in.
Most of our passengers aren't willing to sail before 7am, and huge bass aren't likely to be caught once the sun is bright in the sky. Fortunately, many of these clients are families with young children who aren't strong enough to wrestle a large fish at the end of the line. But the kids have a great time hooking and reeling into feisty porgies; they even get a kick out of the large sea robins that hit our bait. And a keeper fluke is manna from Heaven for all aboard.
