Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We sailed with Dr. Sinfronio "Fronie" Eway of Harrison, NY and found some fish off Sherwood Island. There was a nice mix of porgies and sea bass, and several were boated.
Wilson Point is still holding a large body of bluefish with bass mixed in.
Copps is still a good shot for the early-morning--with fish on top--in the 8-10 pound class; best bet for these are Crippled Herring, Creek Chub and Al Gag plugs.
Burying Hill was hot on Sunday, with loads of blues on the surface.
Schoolie striped bass are now being seen in large quantities in the Saugatuck River, and we're finding more of them in the regular areas this time of year--including Sherwood Island and the Norwalk Islands.
Baitfish are still staying put, and as the water temps drop, we should see more aggressive top-water action among the blues and stripers.
Morning anglers are advised to dress in layers, bringing out the hand warmers, too, until the sun rises and begins to heat things up.
