Report for Long Island Sound

Capt. Sal Tardella
August 8, 2004
Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Andy Geller of Albany NY and his friends Austen and Merlyn of Kent CT, had non-stop action with bluefish on the surface off of Green’s Ledge Light in the middle of the afternoon. After more than two hours of catching blues in the 1-2 pound range we moved towards Cockenoe, where we found acres of larger fish 2-4 pounds, one of which was chopped in half while being brought in.

Ray and Lynn Gilbody of Norwalk spent a busy afternoon catching bluefish up to 3 pounds, enjoying hot-and-heavy action from the beginning until the end of their first charter with us.

Roy Levitt of Norwalk and his father, Jerry, of Maryland—both fishing novices—managed to bring in 30 blues, releasing all but six for their dinner table. The fish were on the surface off of Goose Island and in Middle Passage.

Small bluefish seem to be everywhere right now...lots of fun on light tackle.
