Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

The winds and rain of the past several days have curtailed our regular schedule for this time of year, but we did manage two trips for the week.
Rob Fischetti of South Salem brought along his two sons for a great day of fishing, starting with striped bass inside the Norwalk Islands, followed by a trip to 28C, where they got bluefish and porgies. The blues came in weighing up to nine pounds.
Dr. Bill LaBella of Redding and his son, Jon, had to deal with cold temperatures and some light rain on Sunday morning, but they did well with stripers caught on bucktail lures. We then moved close to Fish Island, where they baled porgies up to 14”. We left the scup hitting, as we shifted gears in pursuit of bluefish, which we found in Westport. The action was so-so, and only a few were brought in, drifting tubes behind the boat.
