Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's been a slow week, with only two trips, neither of which was particularly outstanding.
On Sunday morning we had Neil Boyd, Paul Thompson, Cory Perkins and John Appel--all of New Canaan. We had to deal with winds out of the north, producing 3 to 4-foot waves. We began jigging, with some bluefish action that didn't last too long. When we moved inshore everyone got schoolie bass and blues up to 6 pounds around the Norwalk Islands.
The afternoon trip wasn't much more exciting. The DuMond family of Darien--Marcia and Doug and son, Andrew, brought along Andrew's friends--Remy Parsons, Channing Pear, and Ben Knight, also Darien residents. They caught a few blues, after which we switched over our gear and caught a nice mess of porgies up to 14".
We have two weekend trips booked and are hoping for great action, considering some of the reports coming in from colleagues in the area. Baitfish are still abundant, and we're looking forward to exciting angling throughout the weeks ahead as the water temperatures cool down.
