Summer Doldrums are nigh....

Capt. Sal Tardella

Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Our area has been dealing with very high temps, and we've been getting a mixed bag; but nothing is consistent of predictable.

Among our catches last week were large sea bass, some decent fluke, bluefish of different sizes, and the occasional porgy.

Biggest news this week was the appearance of a humpback whale feeding on menhaden. These mammals haven't been seen here for many years, and it's caused quite a stir, especially for out-of-towners who never fished in salt water.
