Everyone always wants to go on the Full Moon

Capt. Dave Sipler
October 22, 2013
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yep....no matter what. I can bet money on it that I'm super busy in October.

BUT NOT TILL THE FULL MOON IS IN ALL IT'S GLORY!

Thank goodness I slid through with no more than 2 adults and a 7 year old on the boat as a maximum load this past week.

A few days were "L&V" days which were killer.

Winds: "light and variable".

That ended with two days in a row with Fred from Va.

It blew 15-20 knots as the tide went into damn near Flood stage. Moon and wind together.

Couldn't find any perfect Mullet. Oh I found some, but a school getting slammed by small Jacks made it hard to cast net them.

Shrimp, and live and cut Croaker baits were the main menu all week.

RIGHT NOW. And I mean before October is over.

YOU NEED TO BOOK YOUR DATES FOR NOVEMBER!
#1 MONTH OF THE YEAR IN MY BOOK FOR ALL INSHORE FISHING.

FROM GIANT REDBASS TO SPECKLED TROUT.

ADD IN THANKSGIVING WEEK AND YES, YOU NEED TO GET YOUR DATES BOOKED AHEAD OF TIME.

I ALREADY HAVE MANY "PRIME DATES" ALREADY GONE.

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
