From Redbass to Speckled Trout, Spanish Macs, Bluefish, Cobia, Sharks, Seabass, Porgies, Sheepshead, Jacks, Flounder, Rays, Whiting, Croaker, it's all pouring on.

But at the same time, I have experienced some of the most crazy inconsistencies you can get.

I had Doc Miller out with me on a few Thursday's ago. We dropped anchor at the jetties and pitched our float-rigs up towrds the rocks, baited with fat live shrimp.

And in an Hour and a Half we had 22 Speckled Trout, and easily 3 limits up to 4-5 pounds.

Left and caught a Sheepshead on another spot, then came back and had 20 Reds, with ten all in the slot, and 10 over sized.

All this in No current. The tide was weak and the water never really moved.

I had a charter the next day, so where do you think I went......THE SAME PLACES!

And we struggled to get a bite. 24 hours later, the whole area changed. That's J-ville for ya.

So when I go, I fish by my gut feeling. I can't predict what will happen or what you'll catch.

I's the way we roll around here.

But as you can see, we find them anyhow. The St. Johns River inlet is truely a exciting place to fish. So much is going on, I have a hard time getting people to pay attention sometimes.

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
