Winds of change...TIME TO FISH!

Capt. Dave Sipler
November 17, 2011
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Between the NE winds bring us cold air, then 75 degree temps, back to gale force gusts.

I'd have to say so far this fall, this has been some crazy weather.

But heck, Ya just can't talk fishing, without talking weather...unless you live in some perfect world in another galaxy.

Well, looks the Florida fish and wildlife folks came to their senses.

We we all wondering there for awhile, what are they going to do with my beloved Speckled Seatrout...let them be slaughtered with seine nets or not?

All cam out well and here in NE Florida we got an additional fish added to our limit, and no more closed February. (which I never understood anyhow)

And, come Feb 2012 we get two Redbass now 18-27". Over the one fish per person rule that "US" law abiding people lived by.

Customers aboard my boat have sure picked the wacky weather days.

Last Saturday it was COLD in the morning, and it showed with Jason dressed up like Darth Vader.

The inlet fishing was Nil. After what seemed like weeks of 20-25 knot winds and 10-12' seas.

So, I wasn't surprised how dead it was out there.

Here's my latest Youtube video:

Getting you all "primed" for winter float-rig fishing is my goal.

REDFISH??
As of Feb 2012, we can now keep (2) rather than just (1) per person per day.

These are way too large...over 27 inches. But come spring when the smaller fish are all over the inlet, we'll be able to keep more.

HUNTING THE BEST FAMILY CHARTER FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON??

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
