Port Canaveral - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has forced several charters to be cancelled this winter. Strong winds and high sea's were not kind to us. When we are able to get out, the fish are biting. Our natural reef's
provide a non-stpo bite, and many people like this type of fishing. It does not always result in the big fish, but where it lacks in size, the volumn more than makes up for it. A group of 4 guest can easily boat 250 fish per trip, with 50 plus keepers.

Our catch this winter has been heavy with Black Sea Bass, and Grey Trigger's. The Red Snapper catch is better than its been in years, but we all know the story there, with PEW and NOAA shutting it down. Grouper and Vermillion Snapper are also closed for a few month's, but they are still being caught.

The Cobia are just starting to make their spring return, and hopefully we will soon see them surrounding the boat like last year. King Mackerel and Mahi are scattered, but like Cobia are soon to be a regular sight. Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna have been reported recently, and a 121 pound Wahoo was recently caught about 25 miles north of where we fish. AJ's are a common catch on the deeper reef's and wrecks for those that have the stamina to haul one in.

March is now here, and this marks the beginning of the best fishing of the year, Spring. Hopefully milder tempatures will accompany calmer sea's, and the busy schedule ahead of us will go without a hitch.
