We're Back in Florida Waters....

Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, we finally got on the Indian River last Friday–along with our local fishing buddies, Rick Pino and Jack Balme. The winds were low, so we were able to get to most of our favorite places without any problems.

At our first stop we found some sea trout, and then as we moved further east we came upon an area loaded with ladyfish. When we'd had our fill of the feisty ladies we moved southward and worked bottom structures, boating more than 30 trout, all of which were released.

We saw some skipping pompano, but there were no hook-ups. Pompano can be very elusive, with reports coming in of a catch of a dozen on one day and then none on the next in the very same areas.

Bluefish are being caught at the mouth of the Sebastian Inlet, and our next trip will doubtless include that area and possibly the Inlet itself.
