Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yesterday we fished with Judy and Jeff Bairstow of Boston. Jeff's a sailing man and he'd never held a fishing rod in his hands before this trip, but after an hour or so he began to get the hang of it. We spent the morning on the Indian River, bringing in sea trout, jacks, mangrove snapper, ladyfish and catfish. The couple was very happy with their excursion and took home a lot of filets for their dinner table. They both expressed their interest in doing a lot more fishing with us next season.
Today we fished with Rick Pino and Jack Balme, our good Sebastian buddies for many years. We got two nice triple tails weighing 8-10 pounds, fishing around the navigation buoys in the Intracoastal Waterway. Then we caught some greenies in the Indian River, using Sabiki rigs, after which we fished the Sebastian Inlet with the live bait, bringing in jacks up to 12 pounds. It was a perfect morning, the ideal way to end our season in Florida.
We then hauled our boat out of the water and we're now getting it ready for a long dry spell until we return to Florida in late November.
Our Long Island Sound fishing charters will begin in late April/early May. Please watch this site for updates.
