Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've fished a few times since launching our Florida boat.
Last week we went out with a neighbor, Josh—a very fine young man who served as a U.S. Army M.P. in Iraq and Afghanistan—and his friend, Golan—a chef at a prominent condo community in Vero Beach. Both of them are fine fishermen, and we enjoyed a half day catching keeper black drum, sea trout, mangrove snapper, jacks and ladyfish.
Then last Thursday we went out with Virginians, Bruce Easley and his wife and son. The weather was cooperative, and the family caught sea trout, ladyfish, bluefish, jacks, and a lizard fish.
Conditions in the Indian River seem to be more favorable for attracting game fish than it's been in the previous two years, but the trout population isn't what it should be, and that's because the sea grass has not returned to many areas that were once very productive.
