Report for Sebastian Florida

Capt. Sal Tardella
January 8, 2006
Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've only fished a couple of times since getting down here; we won't bother to give you excuses, but we've been very busy with other stuff since our arrival.

However, on our last trip, three days ago, we fished with local friends, Rick Pino and Jack Balme--both great anglers, starting out later in the day than usual because the temperatures in the mornings have been quite low. The three of us pulled in a nice passel of sea trout (around 15, with only three throwbacks) plus loads of ladyfish and jack crevalles. The afternoon bite seems to be the ticket right now, as the noonday sun warms the flats sufficiently to attract the bait.

Our first official Florida charter is set for next Thursday, with a young Vermont couple who are currently vacationing in Vero Beach. We'll try to update our reports on a steady basis for the rest of the winter. Thanks for your patience!
