Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Last week we fished again with our best buddy, Rick Pino of Sebastian. After a morning of constant action with sea trout and ladyfish--and a smattering of small jacks thrown in--we decided to make our way down toward the Sebastian Inlet. And using chrome Creek Chub and Zarrow Spook poppers, we enjoyed a non-stop catch of aggressive bluefish, weighing 3 to 6 pounds. We tallied more than two dozen, and kept six for our neighbors. We're starting to see a greater influx of bluefish down here--not the more indigenous blue runners usually encountered in these waters. Just as they do up north, these blues are feisty fighters that provide a terrific pound-for-pound sportsfishing experience.
On the way in, we stopped to tow in two stranded fishermen whose engine had suffered total meltdown, a not unpleasant chore that kept us on the beautiful water for an extra half hour.
The weather continues to be quite warm and sunny, keeping water temps exactly where they should be --at 72-75 degrees.
