Report for Sebastian Florida

Capt. Sal Tardella
January 19, 2007
Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yesterday was spectacular! Three of us--myself and Jack Balme and Rick Pino, Sebastian locals-- fished in the Sebastian Inlet (between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean), using live pinfish and pigfish as bait. We collectively brought in nine huge redfish, with the biggest of them weighing in at around 33 pounds and 48" in length. The other reds ranged from 20 to 30 pounds. All the fish were released safely after we had some photo ops.

When the wind kicked up a bit, we came back into the river, where we caught some trout, bluefish and barracuda.

The air temperature has been in the high 70's and low-mid 80's, with the water temp at 73 degrees. For some reason there are fewer boats than usual, both in the Inlet and along the Indian River, so there's lots of room to maneuver and lots of uncrowded areas to explore.
