Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sunday seemed to be a good day to go out on the Indian River because thunderstorms were being forecast for Monday and Tuesday. Bonnie and I went out around 11:30am and tried our luck at several of my favorite spots. We were mainly scouting around to see what was happening now that the cold snap seems to have abated somewhat.
The water temps were 59-62 degrees.
The first few stops we made were totally unproductive, and no other boats around us were catching anything either. When we moved closer to the Inlet we saw lots of fishermen, but nothing being brought in; however, we gave it a try because we'd been so successful last week with the bluefish. It was very disappointing, so we moved northeasterly into the flats areas, and we finally got into some action (when the bountiful and aggressive pinfish weren't destroying our plastic baits.)
The total count for the afternoon were five bluefish, seven trout and one small pompano. Among the trout were four keepers, but all the fish were released.
