Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Submitted by George, Imagination Bassin Guide Services
Date Fished: 11/1/01
Water Temperature: 70
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet
Date Fished: 11/1/01 – Time: Daylight till 2PM – Water surface temps: 70 degrees – Weather: Cloudy, windy, with occasional light rain
Locations fished: Spillway area of Farm 13 – Baits: Split tail shads, Chug Bugs, and Carolina rigged plastics
Today was very windy with occasional showers passing through the area. Except for one brief two-minute shower all missed us. There is a lot of water flowing into the Stick Marsh at this time. The gates in the ramp area were open, the pump house was running and the spillway is open. How long this will continue is anybody’s guess.
Working the current with several different baits, which are listed above we boated 63 bass to 5 pounds. The fishing is fantastic, the weather isn’t bad, the road is passable and we had a great time. When we launched there were only two other vehicles at the ramp. During the day we saw two other boats on the water.
The weather forecast for the weekend is iffy with the storm that is brewing below the gulf but you can just about bet on the wind being a bit stiff. Bear in mind that the Stick Marsh/Farm 13 area can get a bit rough and storms can move in quickly. Be careful out there and see you on the water.
George & Scott Welcome are full time guides and full time fishermen on Stick Marsh/Farm 13. Our goal is to share these fantastic areas and our love for the sport. Two boats allow us to accommodate to six people. Contact us; you will be glad you did!
