Date Fished: 12/12/01

Water Temperature: 76

Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Time Fished: 7:00 till 3:00pm – Weather partly sunny with an afternoon breeze.

Area Fished: SW area of Stick Marsh and SW area of Farm 13 – Key again clean water and non-matted hydrilla

Bait used: Chug Bug and Senkos – 4 came on Chug Bug and the rest came on Senkos

Picked up Don in town and with fish on our minds and Senkos in hand we headed out to the ramp. Don had just gotten his shipment of Senkos the day before so he was all ready. We headed to the SW area where we have been tearing them up with hopes today would be no different. Starting out with Chug Bugs the 3rd cast produced a 7lbs beauty. With a few more blowups but no more takers we decided it was time to let the Senkos work there magic. Don is new to fishing with the Senkos so it was time to make him into a believer. Fishing with dark colored Senkos fished weight less continues to be the key. The action stayed hot and heavy for the first 3.5 hrs and then died completely. We headed to the SW Area of the farm and managed to pick up a few more fish in the short time we fished there. Decided at 1:45 to head back to the Stick Marsh and see if we could possibly pick up a few more fish I our original spot. With one more coming on a Senko and 2 on a Chug Bug decided it was time to call it a day. 20+ fish made it over the side today with at least 25 fish being missed. Unfortunately I can’t let Don take all the blame for the misses I too practiced a lot of long releases. All fish except 2 were fat and healthy and in the 2-5lbs range. The trick today was slow and being persistent. Also remember, clean water with scattered hydrilla around have been the key. Have a great day on the water and if you see me don’t hesitate to say hi I will be glad to help.
