Stick Marsh & Farm 13

Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Submitted by George, Imagination Bassin Guide Services

Date Fished: 2/23/02

Water Temperature: 70

Water Clarity: 6 inches

Weather continues to be the big variant at the Marsh and this weekend promises to be a doozy. Rain and wind and cooler temperatures are all in the forecast so dress accordingly and be careful out there.

2/20 Scott took Mike Ziegleheim and friend Mark from NJ, and they worked the NW area of the Marsh and the SW of the Farm. As has been the case for us lately Senkos worked with the best rig being "wacky rigged".

2/21 Scott too Mike and friends Mark and Paul, and repeated his Wednesday route. I had Geoff Potter who was also from NJ, and in addition to working the above areas we added the south shore of the Farm, (Pinball Alley), and picked up several fish there using gold/gold spinner bait - 1/2 ounce. We also landed a nice chug bug taker so it's a good bait to have on the deck.

2/22 Scott's party was Jim Starr and friend Paul and I took Mike and Paul. Today I added some time in the SW area of the Stick Marsh and we caught several nice fish in the 3+ pound range.

Areas that have been producing fish are the NW areas of the Marsh, the SW area of the Farm, the SW area of the Marsh, and Pinball Alley on the south shore of the Farm. Fish have been coming on a multitude of baits including 6 bass yesterday that came on a chartreuse Beetlespin. Plastics, Texas rigged and worked with no weight, and Wacky rigged all produced as did top water baits and spinner baits. Persistence has been the key to catches that have ranged from 20-30 fish per day.

See you out there - look for one of the dripping windblown people this weekend. Catch a biggun!
