We did some area checking today and first stop was Twin Palms on the Marsh. This area had been totally grassed in and pretty much unfishable but now it is a different story. I didn't get there until 8:00, but there was still some "TOPWATER" bite going on and 6 bass bit on the venerable Chug Bug. That was the only bite I found in the area, however I didn't really get into much worm fishing.
From there I stopped at one intersection and then went to the spillway area. I hit several differnt areas of current there including outside the immediate cable area and no matter where I threw the Carolina rig I found fish. There were three or four boats there and everyone was having a great time.
As Jimmy Smith from Georgia said - throw the bait, catch a bass. What a great way to spend the day.
The weather has been good for the better part of the day with an occassional but dependable thunderstorm to run you up to the ramp area, but they don't last too long. The fishing is fantastic at every intersection of every irrigation ditch and along the ditches also.
Topwater seems to be showing a bit, but is still sporadic. I am looking for it however and will post as soon as it seems stable.
See you on the water. Say hi if you get the chance.
