Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water Temperature: 64

Water Clarity: 1 foot

It's a real shame that so many of the Florida fishermen are so tightlipped about where they are fishing and what their results, conditions and tactics were.

One would think that this is the only lake in Florida but that simply isn't the case, but based on the over abundance of reports for the Marsh it would seem that we are the only ones willing to share our experiences. It takes a lot of time to put up reports but it would be really appreciated by me if some of you guys would pony up with some of your action.

I have not posted for a while based on the number of reports that are going up for the Marsh. The redundancy makes for dull reading.

Based on our experiences over the last couple of weeks the fishing has had its ups and downs. Fish are being found in all the normal places, which includes along the ditches, (all of them), and in the SW area of the Farm. In addition fish are being found in all the normal areas of the Marsh. The NW corner, Twin Palms, and the cut from the center ditch have all shown fish.

Baits both for the front and the back include plastics, spinner baits, rattletraps, buzz baits, chug bugs, and walking baits. Fish that we have seen have ranged from 1-pound to 8-pounds with the bigger fish coming on top water, rattletraps, and spinner baits.

The action on shiners has been extremely good with catches in the 70+ range on a couple of outings. Sometimes while fishing you can get a real supprise on the end of your line and the fish pictured was no exception and provided no lack of supprise. She hit the shiner like a bass, immediately launched into the air like a bass, fought like a bass, but landed as a cat fish. She tipped the scale at 18-pounds exactly. She was a fine addition to a 78-bass day for Mark Arvig and Doug Gossman who are holding her in the air for the picture. Oh, did I forget to mention that she hit a floating dead shiner?

Water conditions are great, the road is pretty good, the fish are biting, so the only thing missing is you. Come on down and experience fantastic times on the Marsh.

See you on the water. Say hi if you get the chance.
