Stick Marsh & Farm 13

Capt. George Welcome

Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Submitted by George, Imagination Bassin Guide Services

Date Fished: 11/29/02

Water Temperature: 60

Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Although it was cold, (very cold for this time of the year - 38 @ the ramp), and a tad breezy, it was a banner day for the two parties that we had out today.

Of course, although we can't guarantee outstanding catches, we do have the expectation that they will occur. Todays expectations came to fruition as The Joys on Scott's boat, and the Laminacks on my boat easily fished their way through a total of 144 shiners.

Scott started with shiners in the spillway area and was finished with 6-dozen by 11 AM. Of the 72 shiners the catch to the boat was 58. Gerry and his son had been out with Scott before, so they had the hook-up system down.

By 9 AM, Mark and his wife and son opted to get shiners as the artificial was tough with the wind and temps. Moving from the SW of the Farm to the spillway was not only good for getting out of the wind but also for putting fish in the boat. At days end all 72 shiners had been eaten. We had a fantastic day as Mark's 11 year old son Cody kept us in stitches with his good humor all day. This trooper fished from the beginning to the end.

I don't care what anyone may tell you, the Marsh/Farm is the most fantastic experience you can have in Bass fishing without exception. Sure there are days when things just won't go right. However, for the most part, those that come and share in the experiences of this lake walk away very happy fishermen.

See you on the water.
