Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Date Fished: 5/13/2000
Water Temperature: 88
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet
Chug bug, Chug bug, and Chug bug: Boat trails, boat trails, and boat trails. These are the two things that you need to know to be successful on the Farm right now. Other baits are also working with rattle traps, spinner baits, Carolina rigs, Texas rigs, and buzz baits all producing fish. However, the Chug bug is not only producing quantity but also quality.
During the last three days we have boated 275 bass with the largest being 12 pounds on Thursday and 8.8 pound today. Both of those came on a chug bug. The numbers broke down as follows: Two clients and myself hauled in 109 on Thursday. If we had gotten all that had hit we would have had a day in excess of 175. Yesterday Scott and I fished until 1:00 and had 92. Today I fished by myself until 12:00 and had 64.
For anyone keeping track this week, clients and the crew have landed in excess of 450 bass. The where is easy: on the boat trails and particularly the center N/S trail. The bait is also easy: Chug Bug. Really can't get into more detail on where and how because that is all the detail there is.
The only additional comments: FALSE! Contrary to somebody’s rumor it is not too low to get a boat in. YES! It is low enough so that you should use extreme caution. When in doubt - IDLE! Good fishing and have a great day.
