Waters are warming

Penobscot Bay - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lakes and Ponds in my area of Downeast Maine has been producing a few fish. It has been deep water trolling with sewn smelts for Togue, LL Salmon, and Browns. No real big fish but have been catching some. They range 16-20 inches.

But the bass fishing has been going strong. The warmer water has been good for them. Tubes, swimbaits, and other plastics been working well.

Stripers are still very slow here. It looks like it is going to be late for them this year.
Mackeral are running and people are catching them from shore.

Target Species:

Lake Trout (Togue), Browns, LL Salmon

More Fishing Reports:

Come fish with us east of the Penobscot River, which is known as the Downeast area of Maine. This area has lots of ponds, lakes, and streams to be fished. Trolling streamer flies is one of Maine's fishing traditions. Early spring trolling for Landlocked Salmon and Trout. Troll for Togue (Lake Trout) and other fish through the summer and fall months. Plus fishing for Large or Smallmouth bass with either fly or spinning gear. I also offer icefishing trips in the winter.
