Jeff Hebert, Kenny Hebert, Bernard terradot, and Mike Lee joined me today. We were greeted with clear skies, calm winds, clean water, and a falling tide. The only thing missing was the fish!!!! We did not stay long at our first stop as there was zero fish. Made it to our second spot shortly after day break to find the birds hitting the water chasing small shrimp. It did not take long for the fish to start coming in the boat. No fast and furious action, but we pecked away at them. After the bite played out, we fished five other (usually productive) locations without a bite, so it was off to find the reds. With the tide so low I figured the reds would be stacked up in the lakes. We hit six pods of reds cruising the bank catching fish from every pod except one. Mike is a big bass fisherman and had never caught a red until today. Mike ended up fighting the largest red of the day, and man did he enjoy every second of it!!!! Everything caught on plastic baits as usual, never a need to waste money on that live bait stuff!!!! Another great day Down Dularge spent with good company, thanks to my crew and Capt. Bill for putting the trip together.
