Big school of reds - The back country bite has been very productive. I prefer to throw top-water early and move to a subsurface tactic as the sun gets high. I usually throw a white Skitter Walk but Dave at Precision Tackle gave me a lure to try that a few of his cutomers more...

Redfish and more Tampa Bay - Pesky South West winds blowing 15-20 mph limited areas fished Sunday. Combine a morning incoming tide and SW winds and the tides were very high. Water temperatures cooled again to 85 from recent rains.

Changes are coming - The west wind we have had for the last couple of weeks finally changed to the east. Anytime we are in a westerly pattern it seems it just makes fishing in are area harder. We still caught fish, you just had to work for every bite.

Non stop action Tampa Bay - Two tosses of my cast net was all that was needed this morning. Several hundred baits (still smallish) and a dozen pinfish filled my live well. Gathering bait in 15 minutes is a real pleasure anytime but especially during the heat of August.
