Changes are coming - The west wind we have had for the last couple of weeks finally changed to the east. Anytime we are in a westerly pattern it seems it just makes fishing in are area harder. We still caught fish, you just had to work for every bite.

Welcome the doormats - Went for a change of pace this week. Headed out to the nearshore reefs to check out the spanish and mangrove bite. On wednesday we caught nice mangrove snapper while bottom fishing the one mile reef. When that bite slowed I started moving around and more...

Anna Maria Tarpon teaming - It is the middle of Tarpon season and they are cooperating very well. Schools of a hundred tarpon are in the passes and beaches. Hookups of 10 or more a day are not uncommon more...

Last week of May name your fish. - Started the week tarpon fishing in the pass off the north end of Anna Maria with Shane from Eustis florida. We landed three fish in the eighty to hundred and twenty pound range. All on a morning incoming tide, while fishing with crabs for bait.

Tarpon have moved in - This past full moon in May has really brought the Tarpon migration in. Lots of fish both in the bay and on the beaches. Threadfins, shiners, pinfish, mullet, and pass crabs are all working.
